Flight La Paz – Rurrenabaque, accommodation in a central hotel, lunch and free afternoon to visit the surrounding areas of Rurrenabaque.
We leave Rurrenabaque at 7:30 in the morning in a 4×4 car. After about two hours of travel, we will arrive at Tumupasa “Pueblo Tacana” where we will have a short break, then we continue to the town of Ixiamas where we will have lunch. Immediately after lunch, we will leave for the Candelaria River. If the road conditions allow us, we will arrive at nightfall where after having dinner we will be able to rest (sleep).
After breakfast, we will begin our adventure, we will walk a small path very little traveled by local people which allows us to have many chances to observe a variety of animals, especially spider monkeys and birds during the tour, after approximately 8 hours of walking we will arrive at the Park Ranger Detachment post, where we can bathe, rest, have dinner and sleep.
In the morning after breakfast we will go for a walk in the jungle in search of animals. With a little luck we will be able to observe spider monkeys, capuchins, capybaras, a variety of birds. Around 1:30 in the afternoon we will return to have lunch and rest. In the afternoon we will go out for sport fishing with great possibilities of observing large mammals such as otters, tapirs and the impressive jaguar.
After breakfast we will take a boat or a raft and begin to go down the river in search of animals, taking into account that the best hours in nature are very early in the morning, afternoons and evenings. We will travel on the river for a certain amount of time, when the sun begins to warm up we will pause to prepare breakfast. After breakfast we enter the jungle to look for animals and new things. Upon returning after a few hours of walking, we will have lunch and then continue the trip until nightfall. Taking advantage of the afternoon since this is also one of the best times to see animals near the river. After preparing the field and dinner we get ready for a night walk with the aim of seeing animals of the night but especially the jaguar. Then we go back to sleep.
Before breakfast we will go for a walk around the river in search of animals that come down to the beaches such as the jaguar. Upon returning we will have breakfast and then carrying our lunch we will go into the jungle for a longer time and we will also have lunch in the middle of the jungle. When we return we will go down the river in search of a new place to sleep and fish for dinner. At night, depending on the place and the energies of our tourists, we will go on a new walk. With the option of doing it after dinner or before dawn.
After breakfast we will begin to climb the river dragging the boat, this we will do in the typical way of the indigenous people using only oars and bars. This way we will have more chances to see animals such as tapir, deer, capybaras, otters, londras and jaguar. After lunch we continued up the river until we reached a suitable place to sleep and walk. In this place there are arms of the river where it is easy for us to walk and there are many advantages to see animals such as the tapir and the jaguar. Later sleep.
This day we will begin to return to the point where mobility awaits us, for this we will take our backpacks and walk for around 5 hours through the jungle where we will take advantage of continuing to observe the wildlife of the site, we will take breaks to prepare our food, we will sleep in full jungle.
After breakfast we will prepare our backpacks and continue our walk towards Rio Candelaria, where our transportation will be waiting for us.
After breakfast we will take the car that will return us to the town of Rurenabaque.
